Herdsmen massacre father of two in Ekiti. Suspected herders have professedly murdered a father of two, Olayemi Tunde, 32, in Ipao, in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
He was killed Saturday evening while he was coming back from his ranch.
It was accumulated that Olayemi, a business motorbike driver, who has a ranch in the settlement in Ipao Ekiti had gone to his homestead to reap some cassava when he met his demise.
The unfortunate occurrence has tossed the town into disarray as substantial dread has grasped occupants.
Describing how the occurrence happened, Chairman of Ikole Local Government Area, Mrs. Abiola Ajayi, who advised newsmen on the disastrous improvement stated: “The perished was an Okada man who has a homestead in the settlement. He had gone to his ranch to gather some cassava.
“He was with one other individual. They were going to town from the homestead and have stacked the motorbike with cassava when they saw a few Fulani herders coming towards them.
“Both of them were said to have been amazed at seeing the herders. They said it was by then the herders drew out their weapon and the two of the agriculturists needed to keep running for their life.
“The Bororos were said to have sought after the two men and in the long run got Olayemi who they slaughtered like a dairy animals.
“We have revealed the issue to the closest police headquarters and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) has since swung vigorously and sent two vehicles and they have gone to the scene of the murder to take the body and furthermore begin examination,” she said.
Leader of the neighborhood seekers in the group, sounded exceptionally furious on the improvement.
Adebayo Odeyemi said the seekers had pronounced war on the herders and would not enable such advancement to be rehashed.
“We have not assaulted any herder but rather they have slaughtered one now and right now we will guarantee they are not permitted to do this once more.
“We are valiant men not quitters and we will confront them this time around. They have slaughtered one of us hardheartedly and this won’t occur again,” he said.
