Fulani herders strike again in Benue capture four policemen

Report reaching NATIONALPARROT from Benue State has it that four policemen have been seized and a security van consumed after presumed Fulani herders trapped them in Logo LGA of Benue State.

The officers were said to come back from a certainty building mission in remote towns when speculated herders opened fire on them in Tse Akpam town, close Azege town.

Affirming the occurrence, the State Police Chief, Fatai Owoseni their whereabouts stay obscure.

He stated, “We had an experience around Azege when a group of portable police went on certainty watch.

“When they were returning at a point in Azege, they began hearing gunfire from inside the hedge suspected to be from the herders.

“There was a genuine trade of gunfire. One of our vehicles was set on fire.

“Up until now, on their side, regardless we’re attempting to determine losses; while we’re yet to see four of our men”.

Likewise affirming the advancement to Every day POST, Ati Tekula, a helper to the state representative, Samuel Ortom, said there is uneasy quiet right now in Azege town and its environs.

The assault came three days after the Nigerian Armed force pronounced activity Ayem Akpatuma in the Benue and different states.
